Festival budaya Successfully Shook The Ground Again!

SMAN 3 Bandung proudly presents Festival Seni, Sastra, dan Budaya 2017 : Gathapraya

Suuup! Its been a long time since the last time I posted on this blog. You know, lately, I've been so emotional because you know what? Indonesian teenagers nowadays call it gagal move on which means that you are failed to get over something.

You all who lives in Bandung probably knows this annual event called Festival Seni, Sastra, dan Budaya or well known as Fesbud. Well, this year, we just held it a few days ago. It was really dope and memorable and I don't think that I'll get over it.

Festival Budaya is SMAN 3 Bandung's cultural annual event. I think that events like this are a little bit rare nowadays. This is what makes this event special. Festival Budaya is a place where you can have fun without forgetting our native cultures. It's a chance where you can preserve our cultures that are already fading out.

If not us, who would, right?

Gathapraya.

The name is taken from the words ana gatha and abi praya which means a hope in the future. We combined our native cultures with the future's technology to remind our generation that cultures can unite with technology to make something spectacular happen.

The event started with a parade of traditional clothes that are worn by students from kindergarten until the tenth grade students of my school. The main event opened at twelve in the afternoon. We had food trucks, food stands, traditional games stands, batik stands, face painting stands, live painting, and a huge stage for a lot of performances.

You could buy the tickets for only Rp. 35.000,00 for the first pre-sale, Rp.45.000,00 for the second pre-sale, Rp. 55.000,00 for the regular price, and Rp. 65.000,00 for on the spot tickets.

The price is pretty reasonable because we have a lot of famous guest starts to fill out the event.

We had Vina Candrawati, the Sand Lady that we know from one of Indonesia's famous talent show. Then we had Didi Ninik Towok, the most famous two-faced traditional dancer in Indonesia.

Who doesn't know Elephant Kind? It's a famous indie band in Indonesia, mostly around the nowadays teenagers. They played at Indonesia's biggest music festival, We The Fest, on August this year. And we had them there, at our own event, Gathparaya.

Pelangi, Mata ke Hati, or Gadis Sampul? What's your favorite song of Hivi!? Because we also had them at Gathapraya. Cool, isn't it? Hivi! is very famous with their so-teenage-lovers song and is very good to listen for teenagers like me.

And the last, but not least. The peak of the event, we had one of Indonesia's biggest band of all time. AND WE HAAAAD .... ahem, drum roll please. Okay, we had NIdji as our last performance at Gathapraya. Nidji was literally shaking the ground though it was already around nine or ten in the evening.

There were still many performances from Bandung's local bands, our school's extracurriculars, and the other cultural performances.

If you attended this event, you must know how fun it was to be there. I may say, there were lots of people who came to our annual event. And I also may say, it was a truly successful event.

If you didn't make it this year, then I hope I'll see you on the next Festival Seni, Sastra, dan Budaya in 2018!

Adios!
